Amitabh Bachchan, the host of KBC’s twelfth season, has made a big revelation with his life. He said that mother Teji Bachchan was so influenced by the freedom movement that she wanted to name him Inquilab. In an episode of Kaun Banega Crorepati, Amitabh narrated the episode behind his name.

She said that in 1942, when Teji Bachchan was 8 months pregnant, she took part in a rally for India’s independence. At this point, when Teji was not found at home, the family searched for him and brought him back from the rally.

Teji agreed to name Inquilab
Teji Bachchan was influenced by the freedom movement. One person involved in the movement said Tejir should name his child Inquilab. At the birth of the child, the parents agreed to name Mao Inquilab. However, the poet Sumitra Nandan Pant named the child Amitabh.
Interestingly, Amitabh Bachchan starred in a 1984 film titled Inquilab. Amitabh was the main character in the film.
