An NDPS special judge hearing a drugs case in the Sandalwood case on Monday received a threatening letter and a parcel with a detonator. In the letter, he was granted bail by two film actresses and some accused in the August 11 violence case in Bangalore.
“We have started an investigation,” a senior police official told PTI on condition of anonymity. According to top police sources, a parcel sent from Tumkuru district headquarters and a letter addressed to the special judge hearing the drug case were found outside the court.
Film actress Ragini Dwivedi and Sanjana Galrani have been named as accused in the case. Sources said that when the court staff opened the letter, they saw the suspicious object and informed the police. Police Bomb Disposal Squad has confirmed that it contains detonators. Earlier, city police investigating a drug case involving dancer-choreographer Kishore Aman Shetty arrested another person from Mangalore on charges of drug trafficking. The arrested person’s name is Mohammad Shakir. According to police sources, the arrest was made on the basis of information provided by Sethi and his accomplice Akil Nawshil, who were sent to judicial custody on charges of drug use and smuggling.
Manipur woman Aska, who works at the spa, and Sethi’s close friend Tarun Raj have already been arrested for drug dealing with Sethi. The team investigating the case questioned popular television anchor Anushree on the basis of statements made by Tarun Raj to the police. Raj said that Anchor joined Shetty’s team.
Anushree was released after questioning for about four hours. After the NCB arrested three people from Bangalore with drugs, the state CCB police is investigating a case involving drug trafficking among big industrialists. He was allegedly supplying drugs to Kannada film actors and singers.
