Ramlila is going on in Ayodhya. This year Ramlila is happening differently. Looking at the corona period, there are no visitors this time. Raja Murad, Shahbaz Khan, Asrani, Rakesh Bedi, Surendra Pal and many other actors of the film industry have taken part in Ramlila. Ramlila has been recorded and broadcast live on Doordarshan. Actress Itu Tu Shivpuri also agreed to play the role of Kaikeyi but she dropped out of Ramlila after her coroner’s report came positive. Itu Tu Shivpuri said- I will not be able to take part in the Ramlila to be held in Ayodhya this year as my coroner’s report is positive. I am a self-consistent. Although I can’t travel at the moment, my health has improved a lot. So this time the opportunity has been missed.
Daily Bhaskar has spoken to the actors who took part in Ramlila and what will be special for them to know this time is Ramlila in Ayodhya.
Raja Murad (Ahirawana) – I wanted to play Ahirwan with all my heart. Asked with the mind and I got it. I have been associated with Ramlila for the last 9 years. He used to take part in Delhi every time. I have played many characters from Raja Janak to Kumbhakaran. This time I got the opportunity to do Ramlila in the birthplace of God, happy. I am currently busy preparing for my role in Mumbai. My part will be shooting October 25th.
Shahbaz Khan (Ravana) – My favorite character in Ramlila is Ravana. I have played the role of Ravana in Ramlila, Delhi before. Ravana’s character as an actor is extremely challenging. I have been performing since day one. The difference is that there is no audience. This deficit is happening but glad that the whole country is watching live together. There are no more than 30 people around us. We are making Ramlila out of a small number of people.
Rakesh Bedi (Bibishan) – There has been a wave of joy in the country since the beginning of the construction of the Ram temple. At the same time Ramlila can be more than what she can enjoy. To this day Ramlila has never been seen on such a large scale, listeners would come to the ground and watch Ramlila, for the first time it would be seen live on TV. In many countries it is a matter of pride for us. Right now I am preparing for the role of Bibishan in Mumbai. According to the plan, I have to go to Ayodhya for the last 3 days of Ramlila.
Surendra Pal (Meghnath) – 5 years ago I played the role of Ravana in Delhi. Earlier I played the role of Parashuram. Ramlila is very close to my heart. I am a great fan of Lord Rama and therefore consider myself lucky to have joined Leela. In these 9 days, I have to go to Ayodhya for 2 days and perform. Although I have been a part of Ramlila many times, I am very excited to be able to perform in Ayodhya.
Bindu Dara Singh (Hanuman) – I am very happy that the Ayodhya issue was resolved. The city has not developed in many years, now it must happen. Ramlila in Ayodhya was like a dream that has now been fulfilled. A few days ago we went to invite Chief Minister Yogi Aditya Nath GK to join it. Hanuman has been made many times in Ramlila held at Red Fort Ground in Delhi, I have come back to Ayodhya even though I am Hanuman.
