Lakshmi, starring Akshay Kumar and Kiara Advani, has been released on the OTT platform Disney + Hotstar in November. It created a visitor-ship record within hours of publication. It got the biggest opening of all time at OTT.

The film received mixed reviews
Following the release of the film, there was a flood of reviews on social media. Despite Akshay Kumar being acclaimed everywhere, critics and audiences did not like the film very much.
The story of the film revolves around a character named Asif (Akshay Kumar) who falls in love with a girl named Priya (Kiara Advani). The turning point in the story comes when Asif goes to refer to Priya’s family members and a spirit enters her. Akshay said in an interview that he has not played any role like Lakshmi in his 30-year career.
Hindi remake of ‘Kanchana’
Hindi remake of Tamil film ‘Kanchana’ directed by Raghav Lawrence ‘Lakshmi’. Raghav said in an interview that ‘Kanchan’ means gold, which is a form of Lakshmi. So he named the Hindi remake ‘Lakshmi’. The main character of ‘Kanchana’ was played by Raghav Lawrence himself. It was previously slated for release on May 22, 2020. However, due to the epidemic lockdown of Corona, it went ahead.
