Mumbai police have issued summons to Bollywood actress Kangana Ranaut and her sister Rangoli Chandel and asked them to appear next week. Kangana Ranaut tweeted after seeing the summons. He wrote – ‘Passionate Penguin Army … Papppro of Maharashtra, K-K-K-Kangna missed, no problem will come soon.’
In fact, Bollywood casting director and ‘fitness trainer’ Munawar Ali Syed had filed an application in the court, accepting the petitioner’s case and the court directed a charge against Kangana.
According to police officials, the court directed Bandra police to try to spread animosity between different groups against Ranaut and his sister (Ranguli) under Section 153A of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) (religion, caste, etc.). An FIR was lodged under A (intentional offense for hurting such religious sentiments) and 124A (sedition) and 34 (having the same national intent).
“We have issued a notice to Ranaut and his sister to appear before the police in connection with the FIR filed against them,” he said. They have been asked to appear on Monday and Tuesday. Syed has alleged in court that through his tweets and TV interviews, Ranaut has been tarnishing Bollywood’s image for the past two months by calling it a ‘center of familism’, ‘biased’ and so on.
The allegation further alleges that he not only hurt his feelings by making very offensive remarks, but also hurt the feelings of many artists.
