Hrithik was the first choice
Shah Rukh Khan may be admired for his role as Don, but he is not the first choice for the role. Farhan wanted to cast Hrithik Roshan in this role.
During the shooting of Lakshya (2004), Farhan and Hrithik agreed that they would work together in the film, but when it came to making the film, Farhan felt that he would need a match actor for the role.
Thus, his quest ended with Shah Rukh Khan, who has been in the industry for a long time. However, Hrithik has been seen in a special appearance in Dawn 2.
The actor learned martial arts
For their respective roles in the film, Shah Rukh, Priyanka and Arjun Rampal took part in a special martial arts training program under the supervision of Shaolin temple experts.
It was the fifth highest grossing film of 2006-2007.
The film was a 1978 Amitabh Bachchan starrer Don whose remake was Selim-Javed. Javed helped his son Farhan script, who is remaking Don. The sequel to Don’s remake Don 2 was also released in 2011. Now the makers are also planning to make Dawn 3.
