Divya Dutt, 43, won the National Film Award on Friday. He was born on September 25, 1977 in Ludhiana, Punjab. Divya is said to have gained weight in the film in which she starred. On the occasion of his birthday, he shared an interesting story about himself in a special conversation with the Daily Bhaskar.

Divya said that she can satisfy herself with the awards, prizes and roles that she did not get at the beginning of her career. In her more than two and a half decades long film career, the name Divya has never been in any controversy.

I am from Dharmendra’s village

Talking about her childhood, Divya said, ‘I spent my childhood in a village near Ludhiana in Punjab. Dharmendra Geo came from here. My parents were doctors here. I have a younger brother who is now a doctor I am very lucky that at that time, playing marbles, dolls etc on the ground can be enjoyed outside activities. Half an hour away from the village is the city of Ludhiana to study. Thus, life in both village and city has been seen very closely today, I remember when I was very young.

Because Bachchan came into the industry

He added, ‘My parents were doctors, but I was scared to see the needle. He grew up with a degree in psychology. Bachchan was a great fan. Saw his movie. When he was four years old, he called his neighbors’ children and sang and danced to the monkey song of Khai Ke Pan in Amitabh Bachchan’s film ‘Don’. It was great to hear the children clapping. Gave the kids a party.

“I’m not sure if I want to be an actor, but I would be happy when I danced and acted. Then nature opened an opportunity for me and joined the talent search and came to the acting line.

Childhood was threatened with abduction

He added: ‘As a child, I received threatening letters of abduction. Then my mother sent me to her aunt’s house. The whole area and the police themselves wrote the letter and he was caught. In fact, people used to take advantage of terrorism by sending letters and asking for money. Well, my mother was very nervous. The author who wrote the letter and gave everyone time to connect

The first picture was terrifying in one scene

Acting in childhood, acting in the first film ‘Ishq Meng Jina Ishq Mein Merana’ was a dream come true, it was a very beautiful moment for me. I had to give a shot, but I had to fall into the water from the bridge. When I was told about this scene, I panicked at the thought of how I would jump. When he realized I was too nervous, he showed for the first time through the camera lens that the scene should be taken this way.

‘My duplicate will jump into the water and then my scene will be shot while going out. The whole unit was cheering for him when the mockup jumped into cold water at -1 and -2 degrees. When he came out, he was given warm tea and a blanket to cover. Then my shot was I was coming out of the water.

Salman taught me to die by acting

Salman Khan is a very helpful co-actor. I remember when I had to do a scene of dying in ‘heroism’, I wasn’t going to die. When I was new, I couldn’t hold my breath. The director would say hold your breath, then I would panic. Then the scene had to be cut. After retaking, he started saying many times that this girl is not going to die. Someone told Salman that the new girl who came was not going to die.

Salman’s packup was done then, but he came to cancel my packup especially to tell me and told me – Divya, continue as I am. He showed me acting when he died and I was learning along with him. I will always remember that he is a very helpful and pleasant co-star.

… no one called them after that

‘I like to give my voice to someone, but I don’t want to go into detail about that experience. I gave my voice to Lisa Roy in the movie ‘Kasur’, but I also played a role in this movie, but my voice was given by someone else. It was weird to me. I never gave my voice to anyone after that. Okay, this picture couldn’t give her voice because two pictures can’t have voice in the same picture.

Run like a girl with mom in Amsterdam

Describing the fascinating experience of meeting his mother, he said, ‘My mother and I went to the IIFA Awards in Amsterdam. During the free time, both of them were walking around with their hands outstretched. We weren’t in the red light area at all that mummy got up while walking there and started taking pictures. I didn’t know that taking pictures was forbidden there. The prostitute came from behind and said that it could not take photos here. Then we both ran away like little girls. We both left and laughed a lot. ‘

And Shi Kapoor got up and clapped

‘Lucky Hoon’ got a chance to work with some of the best actors like Shah Rukh Khan, Salman Khan, Amitabh Bachchan, Irrfan Khan, Ishi Kapoor. Everyone was very helpful. Dream It was my dream to work with Shi Kapoor. He was working with her for the first time in the film ‘Delhi-6’. This was my first shot and I panicked when Shi Kapoor, Waheeda Rehman, Om Puri and the whole village came and sat in front.

‘One was offensive and it was very difficult for me to play this character, because Haryanvi had the tune. The first was my loneliness, which included a two-page dialogue. At that time, I was praying to God that please get my shot right, otherwise my nose will be cut off, because my favorite actor is sitting in front of me. Panic did such a good job that everyone including Ishi Kapoor stood up and applauded me.

Mr. Bachchan taught me to disconnect from this role

‘Many people came to the industry because of Mr. Bachchan. I was working with him on the film ‘Baghban’. I didn’t know how to disconnect from my role. One day he reached home in despair. My mother asked if the work is not good? I said – well done. Why are you sad then

‘Okay, my grief was felt by Bachchan sir on set. She was relieved that I was feeling bad about being a bad daughter-in-law. Then he joked with me and made me feel light. Ghazak came to him from Allahabad and offered him. He then asked himself to disconnect from the role. These people have helped me a lot in my career.

Was treated like a princess

‘I was lucky that my birthday was celebrated very specially. Especially when Mama was there, the preparation started from the morning. Most birthdays were celebrated at home. All my friends used to come home. Everyone was having a lot of fun. On the birthday the family made them feel like I was a lucky girl. I was treated like a princess.

‘This time will be quite different. Because my little nephew is planning a birthday. Will dance on my birthday. I will bring what Buyer needs. People have received so much love and affection. What could be happier than this. We practice cutting cakes at midnight. Everyone, big and small, stays awake. Everyone greets and gives gifts. My brother plays my favorite song. Have a theme party, we all dress like this etc.
