Bengali actor Soumitra Chatterjee was sent to the ITU (Intensive Care Unit Room) at a city hospital after allegations of unrest surfaced. The actor was also in a state of intense confusion on Friday.

Calcutta. Doctors treating prominent Bengali actor Soumitra Chatterjee said he was still in high danger. Doctors said this on Saturday. A doctor who treated him said the 85-year-old actor was “in a state of restlessness and semi-consciousness”. However, the lack of oxygen in them has been ‘brought back to normal’.

The doctor told PTI that “their sodium levels have improved but potassium levels are still low. Efforts are being made to improve it. Chatterjee is ‘dull, severely skeptical and restless.’ Doctors are monitoring his condition at every moment.

The actor was sent to the ITU (Intensive Therapy Room) at a hospital in the city after allegations of instability. The actor was also in a state of intense confusion on Friday.

Earlier, his daughter Paulmi Basu had said that the actor’s condition was stable in terms of health. Basu said in a statement, ‘The team of doctors who treated my father say his body is functioning according to health norms and his condition is stable. Her blood pressure is normal and she still does not need oxygen.
