Director: Sujoy Ghosh
Artist: Amitabh Bachchan, Tapsi Pannu, Tony Look, Manab Kaul, Denzil Smith, Amrita Singh
Sujoy Ghosh and thriller films are old. He showed his talent in the story starring Vidya Balan. Later, his 2nd and 3rd story may not have done much at the box office, but in the current directorial team he has created his image as a filmmaker whose film’s suspense and thrill entertain the audience. Revenge carries forward the same tradition of history and it must be said that Sujoy was not disappointed again. Revenge is a tight film that entertains you and doesn’t give you the opportunity to check your mobile phone message the whole time. But if anyone is to be left out for the film, it is writer and director Oriol Paolo whose official remake of the Spanish film Contretampo or The Invisible Guest.
Tapsi has been accused of killing his girlfriend Pannu and his case was taken up by Amitabh Bachchan
The story of revenge is told by Naina Sethi (Tapsi Pannu), who is accused of killing her lover Arjun Joseph (Tony Luke). When Naina Sethi has no way of escaping from the maneuver of the law, she turns to lawyer Badal Gupta (Amitabh Bachchan), who has not lost a case in her 40-year legal career. After that, a different kind of investigation begins that keeps you locked in your seat. Naina Sethi was interrogated for two hours and the duration of the film is the same where the story is told in a non-linear format.
Under the direction of Sujoy Ghosh, the edge has returned with revenge
The full number of this film by Sujoy Ghosh should be found that he has preserved the essence of the original Spanish film in this film and has never compromised. This is why I say that a lot of times when Bollywood movies are inspired by Hollywood or any other language, then the essence of films is lost somewhere. Perhaps a lesson for Badla Bollywood films in recent times that can convert outside films into Hindi on Photographer Abik Mukherjee captures the film’s stressful mood on his camera in a spectacular way in Glasgow. This is the same Abik who garnered a lot of praise for his first film October. The pace of the film is extremely fast and does not create monotony and the editor of the film Manisha Baldawa deserves congratulations for this. Sujoy’s direction is absolutely on target and he has kept his story away from songs etc.
Perfect performances by Amitabh, Tapsi and Amrita Singh
Speaking of acting, the whole film revolves around Amitabh Bachchan and Tapsi Pannu. Needless to say, they both kept the pink thing where they started in this movie. The two actors complement each other in the film. When Amitabh Bachchan mentions the Mahabharata episodes, he looks quite interesting. Amitabh Bachchan has once again explained why he is called the best hero of the present era. Tapsi Pannu has played the role of an accused and his acting is also very ordinary. Malayalam film actor Tony Luke is making his Bollywood debut with this film and people will love his performance too. Apart from this Human Call and Denzil Smith also played important roles in this film and did justice to their roles. However, if there is a spotlight on anyone in the film, it is Amrita Singh who will be seen on screen after two states. The film starring Amrita Singh is great and she has revealed that there is no age barrier in terms of talent.
Revenge will give you complete entertainment
Badla is a suspense thriller film and it is possible that he understands the shortcomings of the film. He may have snatched a lot from the title of the film, but you can still believe in Sujoy Ghosh’s film for his entertainment and yes Amitabh Bachchan has got it now.
