Shweta Basu Prasad, who has acted in Bollywood as well as southern films, has turned 30. Shweta was born on 11 January 1990 in Jameedpur. Shweta won the National Film Award for Best Child Artist for her outstanding performance in the 2002 film ‘Spider’. Shweta played a dual role in this film.

Shweta has worked with veteran actors Shabana Azmi, Nasiruddin Shah and Shreyas Talpade. Shweta played the role of Shreyas Talpad’s sister in ‘Iqbal’. After this film, Shweta also appeared in TV serials ‘Kahini Ghar Bari Ki’ and ‘Karishma Ka Karishma’ and ‘Darna Jaruri Hai’. Shweta later switched to the southern film industry.

When Shweta was caught in a sex scandal

In 2014, Shweta Basu’s name came up in a sex scandal in the Banjara hills of Hyderabad. He returned home after spending two months at home. However, Shweta was later given a clean chit by the Hyderabad Sessions Court in this case. After his release from prison, he made it clear that he was not involved in any such racket. No picture has been released for a long time after his name was revealed on the sex racket.

Return in 2017

Shweta’s film career was ruined after her name was revealed, but she starred in Varun Dhawan’s 2017 film ‘Badrinath Ki Dulhania’. In this film, Shweta played the role of Varun Dhawan’s brother-in-law.

Apart from this, Shweta played the role of Nandini, the wife of Chandragupta Maurya in the serial ‘Chandranandini’ based on the life of Chandragupta Maurya. Shweta Basu has worked at Anurag Kashyap’s production house Phantom Films as a screenwriting consultant for almost a year and a half. Now Phantom Films is closed. In 2019, Shweta played the lead role in Lal Bahadur Shastri’s ‘The Tashkent Files’, for which she was highly acclaimed. She also received praise for her work on Sperm and Sirius Man in the 2020 film.

Broken marriage

Shweta was married to director Rohit Mittal which broke up within a year. The two had a four-year relationship before marriage. The marriage took place on 13 December 2018 in Pune. Shweta and Rohit met during the Phantom film. He also lived in a live-in relationship. The two got engaged in 2017. Rohit was also the director of Shweta’s film Roop Ki Rani. In 2019, three days before the completion of one year of marriage, Shweta surprised everyone by announcing her separation from Rohit on social media.
